After Care
Renew Medical Aesthetics:
Comprehensive Post-Treatment Care Plan

At Renew Medical Aesthetics, we aim to ensure our clients achieve optimal results while maintaining safety and comfort following their treatments. Below is a detailed aftercare plan for the different aesthetic services provided at our clinic, including instructions on how to care for your skin and treatments post-procedure.

Wrinkle-Reduction Aftercare
Treatment Overview: Wrinkle reduction treatment using botulinum toxin, working by temporarily relaxing facial muscles to reduce wrinkles. Starts working within 2-5 days depending on product choice, peaks at 2 weeks

Post-Treatment Instructions:

-
Avoid touching or massaging the treated area for at least 4 hours. This helps prevent the migration of the product.
-
Stay upright for 4 hours after the procedure. Avoid lying down or sleeping with your face pressed into a pillow for this time period.
-
Avoid vigorous exercise or activities that may cause sweating for 24 hours post-treatment.
-
No facials, saunas, or steam rooms for 24-48 hours.
-
Do not apply makeup to the treated area for the first 4 hours to avoid irritation or infection.
-
Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen) for 24 hours post-treatment to minimize the risk of bruising.
-
Monitor for signs of complications: If you experience any significant pain, bruising, or asymmetry in the treated areas, please contact the clinic immediately.
-
Please remember when treating both sides of the face, one side may be more dominant than the other, particularly with eyebrows, therefore one eyebrow may settle earlier than the other in the 2 weeks phase. It may also be that both eyebrows are dominant and in an attempt to reduce eyebrow/eyelid heaviness (ptosis), a reduced dose may have been used across the forehead/frown/brow area (frontalis) and therefore the eyebrows may appear over active by the 14 day mark (sometimes referred to as 'spocking'). This can be adjusted at your 2 week check easily and will settle the brows back down.
-
Follow up: A follow-up consultation can be scheduled within 2 weeks to assess results and determine if any touch-ups are necessary.
Volume Restoration/Contouring Aftercare
(Including Identifying Vascular Occlusion)
Treatment Overview: Dermal fillers restore volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial contours.

Post-Treatment Instructions:
-
Avoid touching or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours unless advised by your practitioner.
-
Apply cold compresses to the treated area to reduce swelling and bruising for the first 24 hours.
-
Avoid strenuous exercise and activities that increase blood flow (e.g., hot showers, sauna, or intense facial expressions) for 48 hours.
-
Do not apply makeup to the treated area for 24 hours.
-
Elevate your head while sleeping for the first 2-3 nights to minimize swelling.
-
Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen) for 48 hours post-treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.
-
Avoid exposure to sun or heat for the first 48 hours to prevent swelling.
Identifying Vascular Occlusion (Rare but Important):
-
Symptoms to watch for: Sudden severe pain, a significant color change (paleness or deep redness) at the injection site, or a blanching of the skin.
-
If any of these symptoms occur, please contact the clinic immediately for urgent care. Vascular occlusion is a rare but serious complication that requires prompt treatment.

Follow-up: Depending on your treatment area, multiple sessions may be required for optimal results. Your practitioner will advise on the next steps.
Fat Dissolving (Deoxycholic Acid) Aftercare

PRE-TREATMENT CARE: Before your treatment Prior to chemical peels, it is important to prepare your skin with active ingredients to maximise results and ensure a safe and effective treatment. Commence using Synergie Skin essential vitamins (A, B, C) a minimum of 14 days prior to the treatment. The use of daily solar protection is also vital in preparation for your peel treatment and will enhance the results you can expect to see on your skin. Depending on your skin concerns your clinician may also advise the use of other specific products such as ReVeal for breakout/ acne and EnLighten for hyperpigmented skin. We advise these products be used for a minimum of 14 days prior to treatment. Discontinue prescription retinoids 5 days prior to treatment.
